USA Tennis 1-2-3 is a low-cost, introductory instructional tennis program for all ages. It is designed to quickly teach basic tennis skills to new players in a group environment. The program includes six sessions/nine hours of instruction. Graduates of the program are encouraged to move into “organized play” programs like USA Team Tennis and USA League Tennis.

This program leads children quickly to modified match play through a fast-paced, active curriculum complete with handouts and support materials. The USA Tennis 1-2-3 Curriculum Guide for Kids provides four different age-specific plans, each one organized in three levels. Level I is a six-session instructional program. Level II is six sessions of review, practice, and modified play. Level III is USA Team Tennis for Youth.

Adults and Seniors participating in the USA Tennis 1-2-3 program are able to get on the court and play tennis in a short period of time. The USA Tennis
1-2-3 for Adults Program Guide gives coaches and teachers the tools to introduce tennis strokes, positioning, and shot selection. It provides practice, games, and drills to hone skills, and offers opportunities to meet new people, exercise, and have fun.

Wheelchair tennis is one of the fastest growing and most challenging of all wheelchair sports. To meet this demand, USA Tennis offers programs geared towards the wheelchair player.

Rules are the same as stand-up tennis, except the wheelchair player is allowed two bounces of the ball. Wheelchair tennis provides persons with disabilities the opportunity to share in activities with their peers and family, whether able-bodied or disabled. Playing wheelchair tennis adds to socialization and the normalization of life after sustaining a disabling injury. Proficient wheelchair users can play and actively compete against stand-up players.

A wheelchair tennis player must have a medically diagnosed, mobility-related disability, with a substantial or total loss of function in one or more extremeties. In wheelchair tennis, the player must master the game and the wheelchair. Learning mobility on the court is exciting and challenging, and helps build strength and cardiovascular ability.

In USA Team Tennis, the team concept emphasizes fun, fitness, and friends. The focus in this kind of play is on enjoying the exhilaration of exercise and refining the skills that make tennis fun for players at all ages and levels of competition.

USA Team Tennis (Youth) is a 6 to 8 week program of team practice and match play for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, who want to play tennis on teams. Teams are comprised of players of similar age and skill, and they compete against other teams from the same geographic region in one of three league divisions: 12 & under, 14 & under or 18 & under.
